India to produce AMCA in a private sector Joint Venture

The chairperson of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd said that HAL is planning to launch a joint venture between DRDO and a private sector, to produce AMCA i.e next-generation fighter jet. The HAL will provide Nashik Su-30 production facility to the private sector company for the manufacturing of AMCA. This will reduce the total cost of production for the private company, which is now estimated to be more than Rs.2500 crore. The HAL will keep its share less than 50% in the production so that the Joint Venture turns out to be the private entity. This will give the private sector an opportunity to have a stake on this joint venture, with mass production of this next-generation fighter jet.
