The Indian government has started identifying the priority beneficiaries for its very first phase of vaccination against the Covid-19. The list is going to include the high-risk population and the front line responders like healthcare workers, sanitation workers, police personals, armed forces, elderly and individuals with co-morbidities. It is estimated that nearly 30 crore individuals will be immunised in the process, once the vaccine gets the necessary clearance for the general use.
Currently three vaccines are going through the human trials in India, among which Oxford-AstraZeneca is in most advanced stage of the process. In addition, it is a possibility that its Phase 3 data will be available in the November end or early December.
