In a latest development to study the effectiveness of drugs consumed by the Covid-19 patients, a socking result has been published. It states that the drugs, which are where popularly used to tackle the coronavirus, are little or no effective. It includes hydroxychloroquine, remdesivir, lopinavir /ritonavir and interferon drugs. The popularity of the above drugs was such that the American president, Donald Trump was also having the remdesivir after he was tested covid positive two weeks earlier.
The study was published following the WHO‘s Solidarity Therapeutics Trials and is said to be the world’s largest randomized control trial of coronavirus treatments. The WHO conducted this randomized study across 30 countries on 11,266 patients, and in 405 hospitals with 2,750 given remdesivir. However, none of the drugs reduced the mortality.
