Earthquake jolts US-North Carolina, strongest in 100 years

The recent earthquake experienced by the US-North Carolina is said to be the strongest one in the past 100 years. The magnitude of the quake as said by the  National Weather Service in Greenville was 5.1 and occurred at 8:07 a.m.in the morning. The U.S. Geological Service said that the epicentre of the quake was 2.5 miles, at Sparta,  though no damage has been reported.

The earthquake was also experienced by nearby states like Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee. If we talk about the history of the earthquakes, this is the most powerful earthquake that has occurred in the state after 1916, which was around 5.5 in magnitude.
