Walmart is preparing to go for Groceries and stays free for movies by following the norms of social distancing.

This is something that Walmart is planning for its customers. On Thursday an announcement was made by them, about converting 160 parking lots into drive-in theatres next month.

According to reports, Walmart is launching the partnership program with Tribeca Enterprises, the New York based media company by next month. The retailer in a release said that movie line up and location will be announced by the retailer on the Walmart Drive-In website.

Leonia Jenkins, the Walmart spokesperson, informed that the admission will be free, though it is still not clear if the movies will be new or old.

Jane Rosenthal, chief executive and co-founder of Tribeca Enterprises, said as quoted “Drive-Ins have been a signature program for Tribeca since we started the Tribeca Film Festival 19 years ago after 9/11. But now, the Tribeca Drive-In is much more than a fun, retro way to see movies — it’s one of the safest ways for communities to gather. We are thrilled to partner with Walmart to bring more people together around the shared cinematic experiences that Tribeca is known for”.

The parking lots of the retailer had been used in many things in the past. It has been used by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the month of March. After that it has been used by the staff and supplies for a drive through and also more than 100 stores have been used as coronavirus testing sites.
