WWII Memorial and other National Mall monuments defaced during protests

On the weekend, DC witnessed the defacing of WWII Memorial and other National Mall monuments during the protest over the death of George Floyd. The protesters spelled out their outrage by spray painting over the monuments, and the protest continued even on Sunday.

The protesters in DC continued the protest demanding justice for George Floyd by moving through the streets and White House.

A citywide curfew was ordered on Sunday by Mayor Muriel Bowser. The curfew was an overnight curfew, which started on Sunday at 11 p.m to Monday at 6 a.m.

The protesters used black spray paint to write

Y’all not tired yet” on one monument, and

 ” F**k 12” on another, by using the green spray paint.

World War Memorial II, dedicated to the soldiers killed in combat, was also spray-painted by protesters as “Do black vets count?

The protesters in DC also damaged the business all around the district.

Officials on Sunday arrested 17 people who were arrested, whereas  29 police vehicles were damaged. Not only these 11 officers got injured, this includes the cop who withstood broken leg after being hit by a brick.
