Trump Says He’ll Deploy Military To States If They Don’t Stop Violent Protests

As the protest in DC continued, on the death of George Floyd. President Trump said that he will deploy the military to states if they don’t stop violent protests. Trump has threatened to deploy the military if states failed to line up their National Guard Units.

President has said the measures will go into effect immediately, but still, he has not deployed the American military to any states.

If he can legally do so or not, as a means of quell protest still remains to be seen. The President can invoke the Insurrection Act in extreme cases.

During his address, the President has advised the mayors and governors to stabilize, “Overwhelming law enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled.”

 He added that “A number of state and local governments have failed to take necessary action to safeguard their resident”.

Trump said that in order to put the protest to end his administration was in the process of dispatching thousand and thousand of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel, and law enforcement officers. He even said that the curfew of 7 p.m will be strictly implemented in the city.  He added that if anybody breaks it in DC, they will be sentenced to jail and serve criminal penalties
