Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, referencing the GISAID, global database claimed that no significant mutation in SARS-CoV-2 virus causing Covid-19 has been observed in India till now. The Union Minister asserted it while interacting with the followers on social media through the ‘Sunday Samvaad platform‘. He informed that ICMR is conducting a large scale sequencing on the past samples and the details of the mutation results will be declared by early October. He also added that ICMR is looking for a reliable test, and will inform the general public soon about the options available.
