N-95 masks: As the Covid-19 cases in India are increasing day by day the central government is providing the updated measures to have a firm grip over the spreading of the virus. This time the government has informed all the states and union territories about the use of N-95 masks having valved respirators stating that they are not efficient to avoid the spread of Covid-19 and can be detrimental for the cause. DGHS (Director-General of Health Services) in the Ministry of Health also stated that, “It has been observed that there is the inappropriate use of the N-95 mask (particular with a valved respirator) by the public other than designated health workers. In this regard, I would like to draw your attention to the advisory on the use of home-made protective cover for face and mouth available on the website of the MoHFW“.
