Continuing his golden run Mukesh Ambani,the Chairman and Managing director of Reliance Industries Limited has become the fourth richest individual in the world. He has recently surpassed the Europe’s wealthiest man Bernard Arnault, whose LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE has suffered the setback in the market following the spread of Covid-19. The French businessman has lost nearly $25.1 billion from its net worth becoming the biggest loser among the world’s top 500 richest individuals around the world.
Earlier this year India’s richest person has surpassed the tycoons in the list, which includes Elon Musk, Sergery Brin, Larry Page and Warren Buffett. After making nearly $22 billion in the current year, Ambani has touched the net worth of $80.6 billion. Now in the list only three individuals are ahead of him; Jeff Bezos ($187 billion), Bill Gates ( $121 billion) and Mark Zuckerberg ($102 billion).
As per Bloomberg Billionaires Index he has jumped 10 rankings ahead since the start of the year 2020 in the global billionaires ranking. The share pricing of the Reliance has also increased by a whopping 43% since January despite the pandemic; also the organisation was able to register the increased profit of 31% in the first quarter of the financial year. Along with this Ambani has also added the marquee of investors like that of Facebook, Google, Intel, Qualcomm and several others, generating the record amount of FDI for the organisation.
