Data shows a decline in the number of Rs 2000 notes in market

The statistical data on the number of notes circulating in the market reveals that the number of Rs 2000 notes in the market is declining. It seems no more notes are printed in the financial year 2020. In 2018, during the time of demonetisation, the number of Rs 2000 notes in the market were 336 crore, which fell down to 329 crores in the financial year 2019, and finally, in the financial year 2020, it fell down to 273 crores. This is the data according to the Reserve Bank of India. The number of notes falls down to 2.4 per cent in March 2020, which was 3.3 per cent at the end of 2018.
