General Motors Co. is planning the target of 40% of the new launches in China to be Electric vehicles by 2025. The company will be producing electric battery vehicles, and each will be made in China itself. The company will be making use of the parts from the local suppliers. The main initiative of the company is to utilise the new technologies like EVs and hands-free driving for the customers, so that they could push for the annual sales target in the country.

Even though the company is unclear about the proportion of investment in the region, they plan to invest $20 billion globally on automated electric vehicles by 2025.
