After Baruch Blumberg, who won the Nobel Prize in the year 1976, in the field of Medicine for determining one form of blood-borne hepatitis was caused by a virus, which was named as Hepatitis B. Now a trio of Two Americans and a Briton namely Harvey Alter, Charles Rice and Briton Michael Houghton received the Nobel Prize 2020 on Monday in the field of Medicine. The trio discovered and proved that the blood-borne virus could cause Hepatitis C. The disease which was a major cause of the threat, that can plague more than 70 million people and causes about 400,000 deaths each year.
