Skyroot, the private space launch startup, which was founded two years back by a team of rocket engineers who had earlier worked at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), now is heading its way towards becoming the country’s first private space launch vehicle.
The startup initially raised $4.3 million, including from Solar Industries, the space and defence contractor. Currently the private startup is going through the process of securing fund worth $15 million by 2021. In the next six months, the Skyroot aims at testing the two full stages of its rocket under development. On the technical aspect, the startup has succeeded in the upper stage engine fire test.
