Having a close watch of the pandemic within the country, Department of Telecommunication has extended the connectivity norms to work from home (WFH) for the Information technology and Business process outsourcing companies throughout the country till 31st December 2020. Earlier the relaxation was valid till 31st of July 2020.
The late night tweet by the DoT goes as, “DoT has further extended the relaxations in the terms and conditions for other service providers up to 31st December 2020 to facilitate work from home in view of the ongoing concern due to COVID-19“.
In wake of the Covid-19 currently nearly 85% of the work force is doing work from home (WFH) while only the critical serving officials are attending their offices physically. It is to be noted that firstly the DoT relaxed the OSP norms during the month of March till April 30, which was further carried till July 31st and now it is the second time when the being extended.
