Gautam Adani, a billionaire, is poised to ramp up local manufacturing, with an aim to build up an ecosystem of suppliers for Solar cells and modules.

The industrialist led Adani Green Energy Ltd has said that in the next 3-5 years, there will be a decline in Chinese Solar. Today 90% of shares of the Indian market are that of Chinese Solar modules import, which will decline in the future to negligible levels.

On Tuesday, a government contract of building solar plants in the country of total capacity 8GW with an investment of Rs. 45,000 crore was won by Adani.

The company is targeting to become a world leader in renewable energy by 2025, with the capacity of 25GW.
