A multi-centric study funded by ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) found that use of convalescent plasma therapy is unable to reduce the mortality or progression in severe Covid-19 patients. The therapy includes obtaining the antibodies from the blood of the person who has recovered from the disease and then transfusing the antibodies in the body of the person who is suffering from Covid-19 to help the immune system in fighting the infection. According to the data, only two controlled trials on convalescent plasma use have been published, each from China and Netherlands.
