Carrying forward the spirit of India to go green in near future, the Indian space agency ISRO is working to replace the currently used hazardous fuel with the non-hazardous and more environment friendly fuels for its future space missions.
While speaking to the IANS, Secretary in Department of Space and ISRO chief K Sivan said, “Since humans will be inside the rocket, we want only non-hazardous fuel and not the hazardous one to power the human space mission`s Gaganyaan rocket”. Adding to it, he said that the ISRO is striving to achieve green propulsion through hydrogen peroxide as a monopropellant or as bi-propellant along with ethanol in its rocket engines to take Indians into the space through its Gaganyaan mission.
