India’s top IT companies will be on a hiring spree in the coming times. The tech giants are planning to collectively hire nearly 91,000 young minds from the campuses spread across the nation. The top four IT outsources TCS, Infosys, HCL Technologies and Wipro are having the increase in demand after the lockdown.
In an interview given to the Times of India, HCL Technologies chief HR officer Apparao said, “We are doing 33% more than what we had targeted and we see a fair bit of acceleration in Q3 and Q4. The visa environment, compensation revisions and countries looking inward have put a cap in terms of the talent available in those countries. If customers scale up their engagement, they have to go where the skills are. Last year, 70% of our increase in manpower was in India and 30% outside India. This year, it was almost 90%-10%. We see huge ramp-ups in India”.
Milind Lakkad, TCS executive VP and global HR head in a recent interaction has said that the company will be hiring 40,000 numbers of freshers as it did in the last year. While Infosys said that they will be hiring nearly 24,000 graduate freshers, which is 9,000 greater than the previously planned number.
HCL will be hiring 15,000 freshers in India and 1,500 – 2,000 individuals on-site in the fiscal year end on March 31,2022.
