Both the students were working on a research project to look for the near-earth asteroids. In this research they came across a space rock, which was identified by using the data from the robotic Zwicky Transient Facility, California. This car-sized asteroid, 2020 QG which remained unnoticed by NASA, flew 2,950 km above the earth’s surface and was identified by these two students.  The adviser of the students, Varun Bhalerao complimented their hard word and dedication expressing his happiness for the achievement.
