India’s COVID-19 Vaccine For Human Trials

Amidst the situation of crisis, and threats to the lives of people due to COVID-19 here comes another news of the vaccine trials.

On Monday, Bharat Biotech has got the approval for the human clinical trials for the first Indian Vaccine COVAXIN. The company has received a nod from the Drug Controller General of India.

The vaccine was developed by the company in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV).

According to reports, the company developed the vaccine at Bharat Biotech BSL-3, located at Genome Valley.

The permission for Phase -I and Phase -II, human trails have been received by the company. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has granted consent for the trail after the submission of results of preclinical studies by the company. The results showed safety and immune response.

It is expected that the trials will start all over the country by 20 July.

Dr.Krishna Ella, Managing Director of Bharat Biotech, said that they feel proud to announce the development of COVID-19 vaccine, in alliance with ICMR and NIV.

According to sources, around five more companies are working to develop the vaccine for life-threatening diseases. Not only India but many companies across the world are continuously working to find an effective vaccine for the deadly disease.
